Most know it for the opera house, once home to dancer and artist Marta Becket, who filled the stage and walls with her own murals and performances for decades. Even today, her painted audience watches over the rows of red velvet chairs.

The hotel itself offers a stripped-back experience, true to its desert surroundings. Rooms vary in layout but share a sense of thoughtful eccentricity—some walls adorned with hand-painted cherubs or peacocks, others echoing the opera house’s theatrical legacy. There's no television, but that’s part of the point.
